SawYun POS (Offline) ("the App", package com.sawyuntech.pos_mobile_offline) is a point-of-sale app by Saw Yun LLC that runs without an internet connection. It is a separate product from the online SawYun POS service, which has its own privacy policy.
01Your business data stays on your device
Products, sales, stock, customers and receipts that you enter are stored on your phone. We do not run a server for this data, we do not receive it, and we cannot see it. If you pair the App with the SawYun POS desktop app, data is exchanged directly between your own devices over your local network.
02Data that leaves your device
Optional Google Drive backup
If you choose to turn on backup, you sign in with your Google account and the App saves backup files to your own Google Drive. The App only uses the limited "drive.file" permission, so it can see and manage only the files it created itself, not the rest of your Drive. Backups go directly from your phone to your Google account. We do not receive them. You can disconnect or delete the backups at any time from the App or from your Google Drive.
License activation
To activate or check a license, the App contacts our license server (activatelicense.sawyuntech.com) and sends your license token or number, an anonymous device identifier (a one-way hash derived from device model details), and the operating system name. We use this only to issue, validate and limit use of licenses. The App also works without a license, with usage limits.
03Device permissions
- Camera: to scan barcodes and QR codes, and optionally to photograph a product. Images are not sent to us.
- Bluetooth and USB: to connect to receipt printers and barcode scanners. Bluetooth is not used to determine your location.
- Photos: only when you choose an existing image (for example a product photo or receipt logo).
- Network: for local-network pairing, Drive backup and license checks described above.
04What we don't do
- No advertising and no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- No location tracking
- No accounts or passwords held by us
- We do not sell or share your data
05Deleting your data
Uninstalling the App removes all data stored on your phone. Backups in Google Drive can be deleted from your Google Drive. To ask about license records linked to your device, email privacy@sawyuntech.com.
06Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
